Richard "Huck" Paul Schario, age 87 went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 14, 2013. He was born in Canton South on September 16, 1925 to the late Harvey and Frances (Vogel) Schario. He was a 1943 graduate of Canton South High School. He married Victoria Violet DiCarlo in 1953 and they were together until her passing in 1992. Richard married Mary Hull on December 15, 1994 and she survives him. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II serving on the U.S.S. Moffett (DD-362), where he participated in several major invasions. After the war he attended Iowa State University earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. After college he was drafted by The Chicago Cubs double A ball club as a pitcher. He joined the IBEW-Local 540 in 1953, where worked as an electrician until 1960 and then went to work for the Triangle Electric Company until his retirement in 1988. He was a 60 year member of Local 540. Richard was an extraordinary man of many experiences and talents. He volunteered for Time Wasters, Habitat for Humanity, Massillon Church of the Nazarene and Clinton Lodge #47. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Massillon. In his younger days he was an avid golfer with a three handicap, three holes in one and the Shady Hollow Golf Championship twice, in which he was a member. After retiring and moving to Florida, he started R.P.S Photography Studios and won commercial photographer of the year in 1996. After retiring from his second career as a Photographer, Richard and Mary traveled extensively visiting every state in the U.S including Kodiak Island in Alaska, and visited every Canadian Province except New Foundland. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his children; Rosemarie Grant, Daniel (Hallie) Schario and Richard (Devon) P Schario II; his grandchildren Steve(Jaime)Eckert, Melissa(Trevor)Stillion, and Autumn(Jeff)Newhart; his great-grandchildren Samuel Stillion, Jonah Stillion and Lily Newhart. In addition to his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by his sister Doris. A Funeral Service will be held at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor John Stallings of the Massillon Church of the Nazarene will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 5 P.M. on Sunday, February 17, 2013 and 1 hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Richard's memory to the Compassionate Ministries of the Massillon Church of the Nazarene, 1323 Lincoln Way West, Massillon, OH 44647.
