Richard L. Millar, age 69, of Navarre passed away October 12, 2007. He was born in Canton to the late Roland & Edythe (Mullet) Millar on August 18, 1938. After Dick graduated from WHS, he went on to study at Kent State University. During his youth Richard was a golden gloves boxer & also played minor league baseball for various farm teams. Dick served in the U.S. Army & Reserves. He retired from Republic Steel Enduro after more than 30 yrs., where he held the position of foreman. He was a member of Massillon's first Little League All-Star team in 1951. Dick dedicated multiple years of his retired life working for the Make-A-Wish Foundation & later founded the Have A Dream Foundation. Dick was an honorary member of the Navarre V.F.W. where he enjoyed spending time with his buddies. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roland Millar. Survived by daughter, Dawn Millar of Canton; son, Derik Millar of San Diego, CA; grandson, Brandon Bushe of Canton; sister-in-law, Sally Millar of Massillon; niece and nephew, Melody Grant and Marty Millar. He was an extremely caring, giving & loving man who will be missed by many. There will be a graveside service Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the companion gardens at Massillon Cemetery. The Paquelet Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to handle the funeral expenses.
