Richard H. James

Richard H. James age 82 of Massillon passed away July 14, 2013 at Stone Crossing. He was born August 11, 1930 in Kenton, OH to the late Byron & Gladys (Spencer) James. Dick received an honorable discharge from the Air Force. He was employed by State Farm Claims for 35 years and retired in 1992. He was a member of the Church of the Lakes, American Legion, Canton-Akron Claims Association and was proud to have been a Big Brother. He will be remembered for love of his grandkids and his Chrysler Products. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June James who passed in February, and three brothers, Robert, Paul and David James. He is survived by his two children; Karen (John) Hampton and Alan James; and two grandchildren, Rachel James and Derrick James. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Richard James will take place on Thursday at 12 p.m. at the Church of the Lakes United Methodist Church with Rev. Leslie Peine officiating. Entombment will take place in a niche at the church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
