Richard H. Fisher, age 87, of Massillon passed away Monday morning. He was born May 25, 1925 in Massillon to the late Frederick & Cecelia (Wantz) Fisher. Dick was a 1946 graduate of Washington High School. He served in the Army in WWII, and while in France he studied floral design at the Sorbonne in Paris. In 1948 Dick and his wife, Marcella, opened Dick's Flowers on Lincoln Way where he worked passionately for 53 years before retiring in 2001. During that time his work earned him numerous local & national awards for his excellence, he operated a floral design school, designed numerous floats in the Hall of Fame Parade, and served as the President of the Stark County Florist's Association. Dick was known for his creative and unique flair, and took his greatest pride in designing & coordinating weddings for generations of Massillon couples. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella, who passed away in 2010. He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Fisher and Mary Parrish, and two grandsons, Jeffrey and Jason Parrish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fr. Edward Gretchko will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
