Richard Edward Wiles passed away at his home in Canton on January 16th, 2022. He spent his last days surrounded by his beloved dog, Bella, and many loved ones. Rick was born December 12, 1951, in Clarksburg West Virginia to Josephine and James Wiles. From a very early age he developed a love of the arts and the outdoors. The oldest of three, he enjoyed tormenting and teasing his younger brothers, all out of love, of course. Ever the artist Rick dabbled throughout his life in salvage art, drawing, and woodworking, complete with classic rock always playing in the background. One of his greatest qualities was that he could see the potential in anything or anyone which made him an incredible friend and father. He spent the majority of his working career mentoring young, troubled youth, an opportunity which he found incredibly rewarding. He went on to marry the love of his life, Suzanne Wiles, a relationship which spanned 25 years of marriage along with two sons. He is preceded in death by his father James E. Wiles and his mother Josephine “Mickey” Wiles and half-sister Patty Richards. He leaves behind countless loves ones including, his two sons, Benjamin (Elissa) Wiles, Thomas (Raechel) Wiles, three brothers Steve (Lynn) Wiles, Jeff Wiles, Terry Wiles, sister Renee Richards and five beautiful grandchildren, Isabella, Everly, Riley, Bodhi, and Oakley. His celebration of life will be held Friday, January 28th that 4 PM at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Massillon.
