Richard E. Donovan, Jr., age 85 of Massillon, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016. He was born on January 29, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Richard E., Sr. and Anna (Deptula) Donovan. Following high school, he served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed golfing and hunting. Dick owned his own roofing business, Community Roofing. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Ries. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Keener) Donovan, whom he married on July 29, 1961, his daughter, Cindy Donovan, step-sons, Theodore Keener and Philip (Linda) Keener, his sister Kathy (Bob) Willgohs and brother-in-law, William Ries. His opera & Wagner friend, Rachel Schneider, his hunting buddy, Mike Valentino and Victor Volpe who took Dick to Tiger sporting events. A service to celebrate Dick's life will take place on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the Paquelet Funeral Home with Fr. Edward Gretchko officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-7 PM.
