Richard D. Mast

Richard D. "Rich" Mast, age 63 of Massillon, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 with his family at his side. He was born in Massillon on April 2, 1952 and was a lifelong area resident. Following graduation from Tuslaw High School in 1970, he served with the Ohio National Guard. He worked as a foreman at Oster Sand & Gravel. Rich was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles and watching football. He also enjoyed spending time with his many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Henry Mast and nephew, Major Jeffrey Warstler. Survivors include his fiancé, Barbara Hollinger , her children, April (Elijah) Williams and Benjamin Marsh and grandchildren, Jacob, Savannah, Tyler, Natalie and Eliana, his son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Vanetta Mast and their children Alexa and Marc Mast, his mother Grethel "Sis" Mast, his sisters, Lydia (Jeff) Warstler and Barbara (Rod) Krotky, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Mishler officiating. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery.
