Richard "Bill" W. Brown

Richard W. "Bill" Brown, age 91 passed away on November 19, 2014. He was born in Uhrichsville, OH on March 9, 1923 to the late Raymond and Ruth (Baltzell) Brown. He was a 1941 graduate of Canton-McKinley High School and attended The Ohio State University Bill married Bess Rizos on June 06, 1954 and they shared 58 wonderful years together until her passing in 2012. Bill served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a Sargent from 1943 to 1946 stationed with the 84th Air Depot in Bangalore, India. He was a Nordon Bombsight Technician working on B-17's. After his war service Bill worked as an Estimator and Vice-President for Reams Construction, eventually becoming Owner and President of Reams Construction Company. Bill was also the President of the Ohio Construction Association and the Stark County Construction Council. In semi-retirement he worked as a Project Manager at Oakes Construction Company in Massillon. He was a long time member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, A member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a member of the Elks – North Canton. Bill was an avid golfer, a diehard Ohio State fan and a devoted family man. Bill is survived by his children Greg (Pam) Brown, Carter (Sam) Brown, Susan (Ray) Chiappini and Bill (George-Ann) Brown; Seven Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; a sister Marge Garaux and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by his infant son Nicholas Brown and a grandson Dustin Brown. Funeral services will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church – Massillon on, Monday, December 01, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until the time of the service.
