November 8, 1931 — July 23, 2014

Richard A. "Dick" Smith, 82 of Massillon, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Inn at University Village. He was born in Massillon on November 8, 1931 and was the son of the late Walter Richard and Mabel Eliza (Weisgarber) Smith. Dick served his country with the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the former McLain Grocery where he was the warehouse superintendent. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred A. Smith in 2010. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Rick & Kristin Smith, Marguerite McCullough (Dusty Smith), Joan & Raymond Braucher, James and Yolanda McCullough, Michael McCullough (Lucy Booty), Stephanie & Sonny Thompson, Kelly & Rick Craddock and Sandy & Elmer Volkert. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place on Monday, at 11:00 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Nancy Bacon officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-6 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home and on Monday one hour before the service at the church.
