August 24, 1938 — March 5, 2015

Richard A. Smith, 76 of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015. He was born in Massillon on August 24, 1938 and was the son of the late Cuthbert and Edna (Burlingame) Smith. Richard was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School. He went on to work at LTV Steel retiring in the mid 80's. He was an avid fisherman, archer and motorcycle rider. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Frank J. Smith. Survivors include, his fiance Beth Yost and his 4 children, Scott, Melissa, Richard and Stephenie Smith. His grandchildren, Kristina Smith, James Cleavenger, Jr., Brittany Cleavenger and Dakota Cleavenger and his step children Tracy Littell and Ryan Thomas. Also surviving are Beth's children, Cindy (John) Amburgy, Greg (Carol) Yost and Cathy (Tony) Miner; her grandchildren, John, Scott and Brian Mohr, Parish and Baylor Yost, Rachel (Alex) Moore, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Matthew, Anna and Levi Miner. Funeral service will be on Monday at 11:30 AM at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Pastor John Amburgy officiating. Friends may call from 10:30-11:30 AM
