Richard A. Preece

Richard A. Preece, age 85 of Tuscarawas Twp. passed away on Saturday, February 06, 2021. He was born on May 12, 1935 to the late Kenneth and Viola (Shilling) Preece. He married Ruth Leona Safreed on December 17, 1954 and they shared 66 years until his passing. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Following military service, he worked as a Lineman and then a Foreman for Ohio Edison for 32 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting sports. He was active in the North Lawrence Fish and Game Club. Richard was known to be able to fix anything and would do repairs for his family and friends for free. He is survived by his wife Ruth; his children Douglas (Denise) Preece and Brenda (Steve) Pace; his grandchildren Sean (Jeannie) Pace, Nathan (Amy) Pace and Arden Preece. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his grandson DJ Preece and his sisters Kathleen, Lois and Jane.
