Richard A. Converse

Richard A. Converse, 93, of Jackson Township, died on November 4, 2011 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center. Richard was born in Massillon on August 15, 1918 to the late Charles & Emma Heppert Converse. He was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1936 and entered the Navy serving in World War II. He had worked at General Tire & Rubber retiring in 1984. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed; traveling, was active in The Massillon Public library, The Massillon Museum, volunteered with the Ohio Genealogical Society, loved photography. He also loved being surrounded by his family. Surviving are his wife, Frances J. Steele Converse, whom he married on August 26, 1939; four children, Rich and Nancy Converse of Canton, Jim and Judy Converse of Minerva, Sue and Warren Lancaster of Virginia Beach, VA and Gary L. Converse of West Jefferson; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Julian Converse and his friend and cat Winnie. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard, Ralph, LaVerne and Dr. Maurice Converse. Friends may call 1 hour prior to a memorial service at Paquelet Funeral Home on Wednesday , November 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM the service will be conducted by the Rev. David L. deVries and Rev.
