We are saddened to announce the death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Rex R Molder. Rex was born in Findlay, Ohio to Raymond and Audrey Molder on July 20, 1942. He was a younger brother to Richard Molder. Rex R Molder has joined our loving Lord Jesus Christ, on December 9, 2022 at 7:20 pm at the age of 80.
Rex grew up in Findlay, Ohio where he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Rex was very well loved and respected by all. He had a love for sports, and played high school football for the Findlay Trojans. In 1959, he was awarded The All-Star Selection for his athleticism from the Toledo Blade, Toledo Times. Rex was awarded an athletic scholarship to Witchita State, where he played college football and earned his Bachelor’s in Science. He returned to Canton, Ohio and met the love of his life, Christine Marie Vogley. They were married on December 14, 1968 at St. Joseph’s Church. They created a beautiful life together and started their family in December of 1969 with the birth of their first son, Ryan, followed by Marie, Jason and Jonathan. During that time, he worked at Ray Molder Carrier and went to College at Kent State to earn his Master’s Degree in Business on December 13, 1969.
Through Rex’s professional career, he was known as being very down to earth and a wonderful mentor. He was loved and respected by his colleagues at Ray Molder Carrier, Refiners Transport, and Ray Molder Inc., the company he and his family founded. Rex began his career there as a driver, and with hard work and dedication he worked his way to be President of the company. In 1993, he joined Advantage Tank Lines, where he was Vice President of Operations until retiring in 2018. Rex was a wonderful speaker, highly intelligent, and an exceptional role model for everyone within his life.
Rex was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He always devoted his time and energy to the people closest to him. He was known to everyone as a source of laughter and love. He consistently stayed busy, whether it be helping around the house or playing with the kids, he was regularly filling the space with light. Some of his fondest memories were taking family vacations to Hilton Head, going out to dinner with Christine, golfing with business friends, shooting hoops with his sons, and going on walks with his dog and grandchildren. Rex would have done anything to help his family.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Audrey Molder, his brother, Richard Molder, and his nephew, Richard Judson Molder. He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Christine, sons Ryan, Jason, and Jonathan, daughter-in-law Sabra, daughter Marie, son-in-law Michael and granddaughters Alexandria, Shannon and Sydney, his special nieces and nephews, and his dog Mia.
