Reverend Timothy R. Lee

August 25, 1962 — September 9, 2017

Reverend Timothy R. Lee, age 55 of Massillon, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 9, 2017. He was born in Dickson, TN on August 25, 1962 to Archie W. and Katie (Dawson) Lee. He attended Dickson County High School, and he was also a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. He earned his Master’s degree in Religious Education from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Following Seminary, he pastored in Florida, Georgia, various Nazarene churches in Ohio, and currently had been pastoring the Clinton Church of the Nazarene on the East Ohio District. Tim had a passion for God's Word, and that passion was reflected in his involvement in Nazarene Teen Bible Quizzing. As a teenager, Tim loved Bible Quizzing and excelled at it, which led to a natural progression into coaching and directing. For 18 Years, he led that ministry as the East Ohio NYI Quiz Director. Tim also had a love for farming and gardening. He had grown up on a farm in Tennessee, and that naturally led to creating his own farm in Ohio. He was known for his bountiful harvests of crops, which he loved to share with others. He shared charge of the later gardens with his youngest son, Isaac. One of the most memorable interests that he and his wife shared was canning and preserving their favorite seasonal produce. Tim also shared a love of Cleveland sports with his oldest son, Anthony. Some of his fondest memories include attending Indians games with his family, but he never forgot to cheer on his Tennessee Titans and Volunteers from back home. Tim was very proud of his Boys and loved them dearly. He attended the performances of his kids such as the musicals from high school and college, Isaac's Band performances and Anthony's cross country meets in high school and college as well. He was preceded in death by his father Archie Wilson Lee and his brother-in-law, Randy Painter. He is survived by his wife, Gay A. (Myers) Lee with whom he would have celebrated 30 years of marriage on October 24th, his sons, Anthony R. (Andrea) Lee and Isaac D. Lee, his mother Katie Lee, his siblings, Sharon Lee (Joe) Theis, Terry Lee, B. Ralph Lee, Danny W. (Wendy) Lee and Vicky Lee Painter. He is also survived by his in-laws, John O. and Hilda E.
