Rev. Terry P. Weirich

Rev. Terry P. Weirich, 79, of Massillon, went home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Terry was born on June 2, 1942, in Massillon, the son of Arden and Esther (Minke) Weirich. He was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School. Terry was a State Highway Patrolman from 1964-1974. In April of 1979, the family moved to Coshocton, Ohio where he pastored Victory Baptist Church until June of 1998. He served as assistant pastor, evangelist, pulpit supplier and was a professor at Massillon Baptist College until his death. Terry enjoyed teaching at Massillon Baptist College and this would have been his 20th year teaching. Terry loved people, he was a very positive person, he loved reading his Bible and sharing the Gospel with others. He loved playing golf. He was also a fan of the Browns, Indians, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was an avid Massillon Tiger football fan. Terry dearly loved his family, his children, and especially being a grandpa. He was a member of Massillon Baptist Temple. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert, Dave, Larry, and Doug Weirich; and his sister, Roseann Ritenour. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherrie (Geslak) Weirich, with whom he shared 54 ½ years of marriage; his children, Theresa (Dave) Cairns and David (Lynette) Weirich; grandchildren, Kyle McGraw, Michael (Shiann) McGraw, and Travis and Lucas Weirich; great-grandchildren, Brilee, McKenna, Sophia, Harper, Huxley, and Milo; and his sister, Joan (Richard) Webber. A Celebration of Terry’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Massillon Baptist Temple. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12 – 1 p.m. before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Missions Funds at Massillon Baptist Temple in Terry’s memory.
