Regina M. Farr, age 85 of Massillon, was surrounded by her family at home when she went to Heaven to begin her new life with her Lord and Savior on November 4, 2011. She was born on November 2, 1926 in Gilmer County, WV to the late Clive V. and Lula M. Freshour. She graduated from Washington High School in 1945. She married John F. Brown, Sr. on June 30, 1945 and had six children. She had been employed by Tuslaw Schools, Massillon Aluminum, Pine's Hollow Nursing Home and VanKay Inc. A dedicated and faithful member of the Massillon Baptist Temple, Regina taught God's special needs children and began a clothing ministry with the late Lucille Elbert. She was also an active member in the bus ministry and the Sunshine Group as a shut-in volunteer. Regina's favorite hobby was reading and sharing bible verses and stories with others. Other hobbies included cooking, crocheting, gardening, crafts and participated with the Red Hat Society. Along with her parents, Regina was preceded in death by her first husband, John F. Brown, Sr., her second husband, Elmer E. Farr; son, John F. Brown, Jr.; sisters, Gladys P. Ellis and Madge E. Hampton. Regina is survived by her daughters, Barbara J. Joseph and Glinda L. Berecek of Massillon and Deborah A. (Jeff) Lab of Canton, her sons, Gary V. (Pam) Brown of Ft. Myers, FL and Richard A. (Nelley) Brown of Massillon, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 9th at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. and one hour before the service. A service to celebrate her life will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Cecil Thayer officiating. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. Regina's family wishes to extend a special "thank you" to Crossroads Hospice for their loving and caring support and prayers.
