Raymond F. Kennedy, 95 of Massillon, passed away on April 19, 2015 at Hospitality House. He was born on July 29, 1920 in Orrville, Ohio and was the son of the late Thomas and Thelma (Veach) Kennedy. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater and was awarded the Bronze Star. He graduated from Ashland University and earned his Master's degree at Akron University. He was a principal with the Massillon school system and was also Tuslaw High School's first football coach. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rheba Kennedy and his brothers, Melvin, Richard and William Kennedy. He is survived by his daughter Linda Shipbaugh, his grandchildren, Stacy (James) McGowan and Jill (Chris Arndt) Shipbaugh, great grandchildren, Christopher Arndt, Jr., Ryan Arndt and Mylie Arndt and his sister-in-law, Jane McVey. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 12:00 noon at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Shreve, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00-12:00 noon. The family would like to thank Aultman Hospice for the care and support given to Ray and the family.
