Ray A. Green, age 73 passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 17, 2013. He was born in Massillon on April 4, 1940 to the late Robert and Z. Grace Green. He was a 1958 graduate of Washington High School. Ray married Janet Marie Sinclair on August 27, 1959 they spent 42 wonderful years together until her passing on July 18, 2002. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Fleming Foods for over 24 years until his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed riding trains and was a diehard Massillon Tigers and Cleveland Indians Fan. Ray had a gift of being able to make people laugh and have a good time wherever he was. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Ray is survived by his children; Deborah (Jeff Harris) Green, Beverly (William) Melnick, Daniel Green, Patricia (Raymond Westfall) Green, and Laura (Everett) Adkins; his grandchildren, Stacy (Galen Burns Jr.) Shelt, Jason Shelt, Gregory Shelt, Brian (Stephanie) Green, Kelly (Kyle) Sterling, John (Kayla Wellbaum) Englehardt, Richard (Shanetta Ferryman) Davlin, Kevin Adkins, Julie (Adam) Duncan and Justin Adkins; his great-grandchildren Autumn Davlin, Christian Davlin, Aiden Duncan, Kaiden Green and soon to be born great-grandson Wyatt Sterling; his brother Robert Green and his sister Sue (Ken) Eckstein and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Ray was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Karen and Carl Mullins, his daughter-in-law Ingrid Green and a nephew Rafe Piatt. A Funeral Service will be held at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 11 A.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. and also 1 hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
