A loving husband, devoted father, loyal brother, and supportive friend. This is how friends and family will celebrate the life of Randy L. Budd. Randy passed away on Saturday, August 6 at the age of 55. Randy is survived by his loving wife Sharon, their children Luke, James, Joey, and Kaylee, brother Roger, and sister Rhonda (Budd) Williams. He is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Joanne. An accomplished athlete, Randy graduated from Massillon High School in 1978 where he earned numerous honors in baseball. Randy attended and pitched for Akron University and was drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1981. Randy built a successful career in the hotel business and most recently serviced as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Radius Hospitality – a company that provides management services to hotels throughout Northeastern Ohio and the east coast. An avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Randy also passionately supported the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and the Cavs. One of Randy's favorite past times was getting to watch the Buckeyes and Cleveland sports teams with his kids and friends. He is best known as an inspiration for the loving way he responded to the tragedy that faced the family when Sharon was struck by a rock thrown off an overpass in Pennsylvania two years ago. Randy's strength and total devotion to wife Sharon, and their amazing love for one another is a model for thousands of people who followed their story. Calling hours for Randy L. Budd will be held this Friday, August 12 from 3pm until 7pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home at 1100 Wales Road N.E. in Massillon, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 7pm.
