Ralph L. Wetzel

Ralph L. Wetzel, 92 of Jackson Township, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at his residence. Ralph was born on September 16, 1921 in Massillon the son of Ralph and Lucille (Nelson) Wetzel. He was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1940 graduate of Washington High School where he was the manager of the Tigers Football Team and attended Boy's State. He was a United States veteran and served our country in the Army Signal Corp. in the South Pacific during WWII. Ralph retired in 1987 from Central Power Systems based out of Columbus where he was a salesman and service representative for Briggs and Stratton. He was a member of Clinton Lodge #47 F&AM, American Legion Post #221, DAV, the 20-30 Club and Trinity U.C.C. in Canal Fulton. He and his wife Grace enjoyed several trips traveling to Alaska, and Hawaii. He is survived by his wife, Grace L. (Lyons) Wetzel whom he married on September 29, 1951; his children, Stephen (Edra) Wetzel and Ann Pellegrene; his grandchildren, Chad Wetzel, Daniel Wetzel, and Kimberly Wetzel, and their mother, Kelly Wetzel and Dylan Pellegrene, Dante Pellegrene, and Tristan Pellegrene. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10- 11 A.M.
