Ralph L. Gutshall

Ralph L. Gutshall, age 72, a devoted father and family man, passed away March 3, 2011 at Aultman Hospital. Ralph truly loved and cherished his family. He always regarded his friends and customers as part of his extended family and loved them as such. He was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and thoroughly enjoyed a visit to Ireland in 2005 with his three sons; truly a trip to remember. His faithful devotion to those in his life will forever be remembered and cherished. He was known for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations beginning at Clancy’s Pub to the current T.J. Dillon’s. A collective “cheers” will be shared by all in his memory. He was born May 19, 1938 in Massillon to the late Roy and Mary (Dillon) Gutshall and has been a life resident. He was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic. His broad business career includes: Manager at Stark Records; original partner of Camelot Music; Owner of Dynamic Disc; Proprietor of Clancy’s Pubs and T.J. Dillon’s Irish Pub (formerly The Massillon Sports Club). His personal pleasures were golfing, reading mystery novels, hosting celebrations, hanging out with his dog TJ and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Thomas, Robert and William and a sister Kate Miller. He will be deeply missed by his five children and family: Renee (Randy) Spino of Canton, Michelle Strobelt of N. Canton, Kent Gutshall of Massillon, Eric Gutshall of Los Angeles and Ryan Gutshall of N. Canton; four grandchildren: Brittany, Zach, Gregory and Abby; Special friend Sally Caldwell; former wife Dianne Day; brother Donald (Daphne) Gutshall and beloved dog TJ. Friends may call Sunday 2-4pm and 6-8pm at The Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. His Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Massillon, Father Raymond Paul will officiate. Private interment will be later.
