Ralph F. Vogt, age 91 of Massillon, died on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Laurels of Massillon. He was born on April 5, 1918 in Massillon and was the son of the late Henry and Mamie (Stock) Vogt. He was a lifelong area resident. In January of 1943, Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during World War II. He retired from the Massillon School system in 1983. He was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William Vogt. He is survived by his wife of 63 year, Miriam C. (Pitts) Vogt, whom he married on March 3, 1946, his sons, Gary D. (Cathy) Vogt of Massillon and Blaine E. Vogt of Massillon, his granddaughter Kristi Vogt and step grandson Matthew Martin. A service to celebrate the life of Ralph Vogt will take place on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Oster officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday (TONIGHT) from 6-8 P.M.
