Ralph E. Baker, age 90 of Massillon, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on May 1, 1924 in Newcomerstown, Ohio and was the son of the late Willis and Edith (Dawson) Baker. Following his graduation from Plainfield High School, Ralph moved to Navarre in 1943. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Europe during World War II. Ralph and his wife Nora moved to Lake Mohawk in 1989 after retiring from Gumpp Cadillac and to Massillon in 1999. He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church and the Navarre Post of the V.F.W. Ralph enjoyed fishing at the drop of a line. He also enjoyed picture puzzles and crossword puzzles. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sons, Eugene Kenneth Baker and Richard Allen Baker. Ralph is survived by his wife, Nora L. (Langenfeld) Baker with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage this past October, his son David L. Baker and daughter Cathy Ann (Todd) Satterfield, his grandchildren, Tracy Britton, Jennifer Weirich, Jamie Woods, Dawn Cassidy and John Clemons III, 8 great grandchildren and his brother Earl Baker. A service to celebrate his life will take place at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 30th at 11:00 A.M. with military honors to follow. The family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M.
