R. John "Jack" Featheringham, 78 of Perry Township, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016. Jack was born on July 12, 1938 in Massillon, the son of the late Maurice and Mary (Bauhart) Featheringham. Jack was a 1956 graduate of Central Catholic High School. After graduating from Central Catholic, he received both his Bachelor of Science in Education and Master's Degree in History from Kent State University. Jack taught History at Perry High School for 37 years and retired in 1999. He was dedicated to his family, and enjoyed music, reading and traveling. Jack was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sally (Donecker) Featheringham; his children, John (Kristin Klinger) Featheringham of Evanston, IL, and Meg Featheringham of Chicago, IL; his sister, Donna (Paul) Sander of Massillon; and his brother, David (Pam) Featheringham of Alpharetta, GA. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1 p.m. by Fr. Edward Gretchko, Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church and will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 127 Cherry Rd. N.E., Massillon, Ohio 44646. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association: www.alz.org.
