Quinton S. Barnes, 84 of Navarre, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on August 3, 1924 in Isabella, Tenn., the son of the late Solon and Mae Barnes. On July 18, 1947 he married his loving wife Ada (Lee) and they would have celebrated 62 years of marriage. He worked for the Massillon State Hospital and drove school bus for Perry Local Schools. Quinton was a charter member of the Massillon Baptist Temple. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ward and Miller Barnes and his sister Billie Fields. He is survived by his wife, Ada, his daughter, JoAnn (Rick) McClain of Loganville, GA, his grandchildren, Kimberley (Mark) Taghon and Chad (Sarah) McClain, his great-grandchildren, Shelbey and Jackson Taghon and Emily and Madison McClain, his sisters, Ruby Barnes of SC, and Mickey (Lou) Venable of SC and his brother, Owen Barnes of Nashville, TN. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Massillon Baptist Temple. Friends may call at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 PM and at the church one hour prior to the service. His pastor, Rev. Cecil Thayer will officiate.
