Prasanna L. Soni

Prasanna L. Soni, M.D., age 65, of North Canton, passed away unexpectedly February 14, 2013. Dr. Soni was born on July 5, 1947 in Nagpur, India the son of Laxminarayan and Vilma (Laddha) Soni. Dr. Soni received his medical education in Nagpur, India. He immigrated to the United States in 1971 and completed his internship at Mary Mount Hospital in Cleveland. He completed his Orthopaedic residency at St. Luke's Hospital in Shaker Heights, Ohio in 1977. Dr. Soni opened his private practice in Orthopaedic Surgery in Canton, Ohio in February of 1978. He was very dedicated to his patients and his beloved Airedale, Nigel, who was the clinic mascot. He was preceded in death by his father, Laxminarayan Soni, M.D. in 2012 and a younger brother, Pramod Soni in 2010. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (Elsbree) Soni to whom he was married for 35 years; his children, Sara Soni of Columbus, Ohio and Stephen Soni of Carbondale, CO; his brothers, Prakash (Sunita) Soni and Pravin (Amy) Soni; his sister, Dr. Prabha Mohta and her husband Brij Mohta; his sister-in-law, Chitra Soni; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. at Paquelet Funeral Home: 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon.
