Phyllis Elaine Bell was born to the late Charles and Margaret Bell on August 19, 1949. She was the youngest born to this union. She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Bell. Phyllis was baptized and saved at an early age at Friendship Baptist Church in Massillon, Ohio. Phyllis was raised and lived in Massillon, Ohio for her entire life. She attended and graduated from Washington High School – Class of 1967. Her high school years were memorable, attending football games and dances with her friends, including lifelong friends Marsha, Regina, and Fran. Phyllis was a loving and caring wife and soulmate for 40 years to Daniel Flowers. She enjoyed planting flowers, caring for her plants, traveling, spending time with family and friends, hosting many parties, cookouts, and fish fries. Phyllis loved her hometown, especially the Massillon Tigers football team. She retired from Timken Company with 35 years of service. Phyllis transitioned on September 18, 2019 leaving forever memories of a wonderful life and legacy. Those who live to cherish her memories include her loving husband, Daniel Flowers; two daughters, Oneda Dixon (Perry Dixon) and Bertha Flowers; one grandson, Perry Dixon, II; cousins: Earl, Joe, Bambi, and Lovie Bell; sisters-in-love, Julia Flowers, Naomi Vance, Laura Hicks (Henry), Lottie Shell, and Vinnie Moore; brothers-in-love, Orlando Flowers, and Gary Darnell Flowers, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Phyllis Elaine Flowers, age 70, passed away September 18, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 27, 2019, at Friendship Baptist Church (920 3rd Street SE, Massillon, OH 44646). Visitation will begin at 10am on Friday prior to the service.
