Phyllis A. Kreiger

Phyllis A. Kreiger, 79 of Massillon, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015. Phyllis was born on April 4, 1936 the daughter of the late John and Hilda (Starkey) Urwin. Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1954 graduate of Washington High School. She worked at First Savings & Loans Bank and retired after 18 years of service. Phyllis enjoyed sewing, attending craft fairs, ball games, playing cards, and baking. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Urwin. She is survived by her husband Jim Kreiger, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage; her children Kathy (Paul) Bendure, Karl "Jay" Kreiger, Karen (Craig) Weiss, and Kelly (Ken) Girts; her grandchildren, John and Andrew Bendure, Brittany Burner, Ryan and Garrett Kreiger, Jared and Jackson Weiss, and Madeline and Louis Girts; 8 great grandchildren; her brother, John "Jack" (Ruth) Urwin; and her sister, Dorothy Allenbach. A Celebration of Phyllis's life will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. A private burial will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1-2 p.m. before the service.
