Phyllis A. Howard

Phyllis A. Howard, 73, of Massillon, Ohio, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on March 28, 2023 following a brief illness.  Born on April 28, 1949, Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Massillon. She was a Washington High School graduate. Phyllis worked and retired from ECKO Housewares in Massillon. She loved AA and was an active member, attending and often serving in meetings as well as sponsoring other recovering alcoholics. She was grateful to be in recovery and was awarded her 13-year coin in honor of her sobriety the day before her passing. Phyllis's AA friends were very special to her, and she would gladly help anyone who was struggling to find their way out of alcoholism. She gave all the credit for her recovery to God, often telling others that it was through His grace and mercy and not of her accord that she maintained her sobriety. AA helped grow Phyllis's faith, and her family takes comfort in the knowledge that she knew Jesus during her time on Earth, and now is with Him for eternity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl, and Fern Dunfee.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Angela) Howard; grandchildren, Alexander M. (Brittany) Howard, and Olivia G. Howard; sister, Barbara (George) Jasinski; nieces Lindsay (Steven) Griffith and Ashley (Shawn) Kremer; and great nieces and nephews including Attalie, Rorey, Gabe, Kaysen, and Collins.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 10 am. to 12 p.m. (noon) with the funeral service at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A meal prepared in Phyllis's memory will follow back at the funeral home following the committal service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous / St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Massillon.
