Phillip “Phil” D. Koehler, age 76, of Navarre, passed away, after courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, on July 20, 2020. He was born to the late Russell and Rebecca (Stark) Koehler on August 22, 1943. He was a 1961 graduate of Louisville High School and a 1963 graduate of Canton Area Technical School. He married Antoinette DeSantis on November 21, 1964 and they shared almost 56 years together. Phillip worked for over 31 years at the Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 2000. He enjoyed photography, gardening, electronics, and was known as someone who used his talents of being able to fix anything to help others. Phil was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ann; his children Donald (Lisa) Koehler and Mary (James) Guy; grandchildren Andrew (Raychel) Koehler and Lea (Andrew) Lang; great-grandchildren Jackson Lang, Athena Koehler, Allison Lang, and Avery Koehler; his brother Bernard Koehler and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patricia Crites, Brothers, Harold “Joe” Koehler, Dale Koehler, Evan “Lynn” Koehler, Russell “Buddy” Koehler and Kenneth Koehler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 11a.m. at Holy Family Parish in Navarre. The family will receive friends at the church from 10a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to thank the staff at Danbury Senior Living Massillon as well as the doctors, nurses and hospice care workers for Phillip’s exceptional care during his 2 ½ year residency.
