Philip L. Shannon

Philip L. Shannon, 85, passed away on Saturday, following an extended illness. He was born in Massillon on November 13, 1929 to the late Solomon D. and Mary (Saba) Shannon. Philip was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Massillon. He was also a member of the Elks and Eagles. He loved to play cards, water ski in his younger years and play tennis. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Ochsenfeld) Shannon; a son, Kerry (Susan) Shannon of Bellefonte, PA; and a grandson, Tyler Shannon. He is also preceded in death by his three brothers, Richard, William and David Shannon; and his two sisters, Ida Hunt and Rose Elum. Family and friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, November 5, 2015 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Massillon, Fr. Raymond Paul, Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
