Philip H. Keeney, age 79 of Jackson Township, died on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Aultman Hospital. He was born on March 17, 1933 in South Point, Ohio and was the son of the late Shirley and Olive (Baker) Keeney. Following high school, Phil served his country with the U.S. Army during the latter part of the Korean Conflict. He retired as maintenance supervisor with Freshmark. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing and bowling. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Keeney. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Mays) Keeney, whom he married on September 1, 1952, his daughter and son-in-law, Candace and Ron Reese and his grandsons, Ryan Reese and Chris Reese. A service to celebrate the life of Philip Keeney will take place on Wednesday, at 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, (1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, OH 44646). Rev. Jake Tovissi will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM.
