Phalandas Owens

Phalandas Owens was born on August 6, 1937 in Arlington, Tennessee to the late Elton Owens and Ruby T. Lynn. On April 29, 2021, he passed away in the privacy of his home. He was a jokester and fun loving. He loved his children and all of his grandchildren. For many years, he drove big rigs for a living. He retired from truck driving and then started driving Charter Buses. He loved to fish and ride the road. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Bevelyn D. Owens-Wells; Wife, Barbara J. Owens; five sisters, Mamie Lynn, Frenciola Lynn, Christine Jefferson, Cora Owens, Lottie Owens; two brothers, Theodor Owens, and LJ Owens. He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Frederick (Sandy Bartholow) Owens of Massillon, Ohio; Mark (Doneta) Owens of Blythewood, SC; six grandchildren, Jamarr (Kimberly) Harris of Columbia, SC, Ebony Blake of Massillon, Ohio, Richard D. (LaShae) Arrington II of Buckeye, Arizona, Kambrelle Smith, Miracle Owens, and Aneecia Owens of Blythewood, SC; six great-grandchildren, MaKayla, Ja’Liyah, Kamille Harris of Columbia, SC, Da’Miyah and Richard Arrington III of Buckeye Arizona and Kaidyn Dodson of Blythewood, SC; ten sisters, Joyce Fraizer of Philadelphia, PA, Eunice Owens of New York, NY, Ernestine Mitchell, Edna Mitchell, Inez Owens, Linda Owens, Louella Owens, Ophelia Lynn, Juanita Lynn, Ruby Oliver of Memphis, TN, two brothers, Nathaniel (Sandra) Lynn of Memphis, TN, and Elton Owens Jr. of Memphis, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Home Going celebration will be held on Saturday, May 8th at 10 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather on Friday, May 7th from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
