Peter "Pete" John Staken

Peter "Pete" J. Staken, age 76, passed away at Aultman Hospital on October 09, 2015 following a massive stroke. He was born in Massillon on December 09, 1938. His parents were the late John and Marie Zalack. Pete was a 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He married Jo Ann Preston on November 16, 1963. He served in the Army National Guard. Pete retired from Westinghouse Electric Supply and was an avid bowler and golfer, accomplishing 2 holes-in-one. He followed the Browns, Cavaliers, Indians, and Buckeyes. Pete was a member of St. Joan of Arc Parish, Hall of Fame Luncheon Club, Louisville American Legion-Post 548 and FOE – Aerie #2370. Pete is survived by his wife Jo Ann; sisters Gerri Slicker and Susan Weckbacher; brother Lou (Anita) Zalack and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Mary Ann Malich and brother Jack Zalack. A Celebration of his life will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home on, Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 11a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service.
