Peter "Pete" E. Wagner

Peter “Pete” E. Wagner, age 84, of Massillon, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 19, 2021. He was born on October 12, 1936 in Massillon, to the late Edwin and Mable (Bailey) Wagner. He married Susan Bristor on January 02, 1965 and they shared over 56 years together until his passing. Pete worked as a Laborer for Republic Steel – Enduro Stainless Steel Division for 42 years until his retirement. He enjoyed camping, traveling the United States, refinishing antiques and furniture with his wife. He loved his cats and all animals. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Peter leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Susan; his daughters Kristine Wagner and Brenda (Paul) Cantor; his grandchildren Andrew Cantor-Wagner, Anthony Cantor, Amber (John) Ortiz, Gabrielle Robinson and Michael Robinson; his great-grandchildren Christian Robbins and Cameron Cantor-Wagner, John S. Ortiz, Michael A. Ortiz Naevia Cowley and Darby Robinson; Linda Burgan and David Caldwell, who were like his own children and Lindsee Ries and Kimberly Powell, who were like his grandchildren, as well as a host of family and friends. Pete was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved orange tabby Meowzer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon on, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10a.m. Father Raymond Paul will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 6-8p.m. and from 9:00-9:40am on Saturday. Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery.
