Perry "Doug" Douglas Taylor

Perry "Doug" Taylor, age 60 passed away on November 26, 2012. He was born to the late Paul and Ruth (Wazlavek) Taylor. He attended Washington High School and was employed at the Controlled Power Corporation in Massillon as a welder for many years. Doug enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1969 where he proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1971, having attained the rank of Lance Corporal. After his discharge, Doug also served in the Ohio National Guard. Doug was a proud member of the American Legion Post # 147 in Apple Creek, Ohio. Doug was always available to donate his time as part of the Military Color Guard for many local events. Doug was an avid hunter and an excellent marksman, winning many sharp shooting events. Doug cherished the precious time he and his devoted companion, Wanda Davisson, spent living in the beautiful country hills of Chloe West Virginia for many years until their recent return to Ohio. Doug will be sorely missed by his family, friends, nieces, nephews and his fellow veterans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his younger brother, William "Billy" Taylor Doug is survived by his son Todd Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona; his brothers Paul (Bonnie) Taylor, Joe (Pat) Taylor, Rick (Robin) Taylor, David Taylor, Charles (Maryanne) Taylor; his younger sisters, Pam "Sis" Taylor and Paula (Doug) Akins, his loving companion for over 25 years, Wanda Davisson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
