Pearl Irene McKnight, age 82 of Massillon, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Amherst Meadows. She was born in Elba, Ohio on September 8, 1932. She retired from Ore-Ida Foods. Many people knew her from Girl Scouts which she was very involved with as a child then as a leader. Pearl enjoyed camping at Springwood with family, activities with other residents at Quarry Ridge and of course time spent with her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her biological father Dorrus A. Hupp, adopted father Clyde A. McAtee, mother Sarah E. McAtee, brothers Paul Hupp and Frank Hupp, sisters Barbara Hupp and Beverly Justice and husband Roy C. McKnight. Survivors include, daughter, Cheryl A. Smith, granddaughters, Briana McKnight and Sarah J. Seese, grandson, Daniel R. Munshower and great grandchildren, Brevon, Kenny, Maxwell, Taylor and Mykel. Also surviving are her siblings, William Hupp, Marilyn Ball, John, Donald, Fred, Charles, Edward, Margaret and Steve all of Ohio and Phyllis and Patrick of Texas and Kenneth of Georgia and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and on Friday from 12-1 P.M. The family would like to thank the staffs at Amherst Meadows and Crossroads Hospice for the wonderful care that they gave her.
