Pauline Mitzel Van Dyne, 93 of Orrville, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017. She was born in Washington, PA on February 17, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Haven Charles and Mildred (Kim) Gray. Pauline was a veteran of both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. She had worked at Republic Steel and the former Massillon State Hospital. Pauline enjoyed being with family and friends, playing bingo, cards and dancing. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband’s Walter Mitzel, Sr. and Alfred Van Dyne, Sr., her son Walter M. Mitzel, Jr., her sisters Hazel Mattern and Hilda Griffiths and her stepson Alfred Van Dyne, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Ann (Ed) Tesch and Sharon Kay Henry, her step daughter-in-law, Joan Van Dyne, seven grandchildren, Billie Jo Henry, Stacy (Scott) Kraus, Kimberlee Henry, Paul (Courtney) Henry, Natasha (Brad) Asbury, Abby Mitzel and Colton Mitzel, step granddaughter Rebecca Van Dyne, twelve great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, her sister Darlene Gottler, her brother, Haven Charles (Diane) Gray, Jr. and her canine companion Paris. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 12:00 noon at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. The family would like to thank Rose Lane Health Care Center and Springer Hospice for the wonderful care they gave their mother. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springer Hospice at Rose Lane.
