Paul J Colaner II, 58, was welcomed by his Heavenly Father into his eternal reward December 5, 2020. Born December 1, 1962 in Canton, Ohio, the second of three children to Paul J. and Margaret Colaner. Survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Michele (Swihart) Colaner of Panama City, FL, son, Sgt Saviour Kyle Colaner of Phoenix, AZ, grandson Alexander Colaner, parents Paul J. and Margaret Colaner, sisters Kimberly (Ricki) Rogers, Karen (John) Kortis of Massillon, OH. Also Mother-in-law Charlotte Hostetter, Father-in-law David (Linda) Swihart, brothers-in-law Michael (Tabitha) Swihart, of Navarre OH, Mitchell Swihart, Steven Swihart, sisters-in-law Jessica Swihart and Debra (Jason) Justus of Canton, OH, and many precious nieces and nephews. Encouraged by his father, Paul joined the USAF soon after high school, serving our country at home and abroad for a total of twenty-seven years. He cherished this service as both an honor and privilege. Like his father, he spent hours talking to young people about the honors and benefits of serving our great country. Many listened to him, including his son, three nephews and a brother-in-law. He considered this one of his greatest life achievements. After retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2009, he began working at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City as a contractor, welcomed due to his extensive experience. His final job with Pacific Architects & Engineers allowed him to be a vital part of the Drones Program. He loved all whom he worked with at Tyndall AFB. They have expressed Paul will be dearly missed. To know Paul was to know he loved Michele, his family and friends, and fishing. He started at the local creek as a young boy, finishing as a seasoned Gulf fisherman, sharing it generously with his family and friends, especially Saviour. He loved the Emerald Coast. Paul’s smile was magnetic, his heart was huge, his love given easily, a reflection of his love for Jesus. He has now traded these temporal earthly pleasures for eternal unspeakable joy, full of Glory in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Facebook Live Streaming for those unable to attend. Calling hours will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, January 5 and again from 10-11am Wednesday prior to the service. Flowers are welcome but donations in Paul’s name to the Gary Sinise Foundation would be appreciated.
