Patsy F. Ross, age 88 of Massillon, died Tuesday morning at Mercy Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Custer City, PA on April 7, 1919 and was the son of the late John & Anna (Kutchmire) Ross. He was a Massillon resident for most of his life. Patsy served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was an avid Massillon Tiger fan, hunter and fisherman. He was a founding member of the Muskingum Trail Sportsman’s Club. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years and was a past scout master at St. Mary’s. He served on the Board of Directors of the Buckeye Council of the B.S A. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the K. of C. # 554. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carmen & John Ross and his sister Peg Schwartz. He is survived by his wife, Katherine L. (Knight) Ross, whom he married on May 25, 1946, his sons, Randy (Ginny) Ross of Massillon, Rod (Melanie) Ross of Fairmont, WV, his daughters, Nancy (Bob) Briggs and Sue (Dave) Repp all of Massillon, his grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Piecuch, Brandon (Heather) Griffiths, Carissa Griffiths, Melanie (Brandon) Reynolds, Lauren Ross & Anthony Repp, step grandchildren, Sherry (Chris) Miller & Wendy (George) Emmert, great grandchildren, Jessica, Morgan, Stanley, Justin, Bella, Gavin & Gwenley, numerous step great grandchildren, his sisters, Betty Helbert of Massillon & June (Erve) Easton of Queenstown, MD & his brothers, Dick (Marge) Ross of Fremont, OH and Dave Ross of Miami, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Edward Gretchko officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Patsy F.
