Patrick R. Grisez, age 70 of Massillon, died on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center. He was born on May 18, 1940 in Shawnee, Ohio and was the son of the late Robert L. and Doris L. (Sams) Grisez. In 1958, he graduated from Central Catholic High School in Canton. He was a meat cutter by trade and had worked at Superior Brand Meats for 19 years. He retired from Crown Steel in 2004. Following his retirement, Pat worked as a skycap at Akron/Canton Airport where he took great joy from being able to help others. He was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church. Pat loved his family, enjoyed bicycling, playing the organ and working on his computer. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife and friend, Karen Grisez and his brothers, Thomas Grisez and Ronald Grisez. He is survived by his children, Philip A. Grisez of St. Louis Park, MN, Pamela (Michael) Maloy of Gnadenhutten, OR, Christine (John) Gault of North Canton, OH and Patrick E. Grisez of Navarre, FL, his grandchildren, Talia, Kayla and Craig Maloy and Michael Presley; his brothers, Jerry Grisez and Robert Grisez; his sisters, Mary Grisez and Suzanne Heisler. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Barbara's Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Cebula officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. The family suggests memorials be made in his name to the Soup Kitchen at the Knights of Columbus in Massillon where he had volunteered. Paquelet -A Golden Rule Funeral Home 330-833-3222
