Patricia Ruth Akey

Patricia Ruth Akey, age 74 of Massillon, passed away June 8, 2012 at Aultman Hospital following an extended illness surrounded by her family. She was born in Pulaski, VA on July 26, 1937 to the late Ralph & Ruth Harrell Henson. Patricia was employed by the United States Postal Service, Massillon, OH as a rural carrier retiring in 2009. She was loved by all and was well known for her sense of humor. She was an avid gardener, cook, enjoyed casino trips and had a great love for animals.. She is survived by her: husband, Jeffrey Akey whom she married in August of 1976, four children; Sherry Burwell of Massillon, Jimmie " Mac" (Bev) McCreery of Wadsworth, Cindy ( Jeff) Ricker of Massillon, Cathy (Jimmy) Winter of Massillon, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, three sisters; Judy (Jack) Kirven of Wooster, Janice (Gary) Krug of Massillon, Bonnie "Susie" (Butch) Weisgarber of Massillon and a brother, Ralph"Freddie" (Betty) Henson, Jr. of Massillon and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 10:00AM in the Paquelet Funeral Home, Chaplain Terry Livengood, officiating. Burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery.
