Patricia Laps

Patricia (Willis) Laps, age 82 passed away Saturday April 25, 2015 at the Sterling House of Canton. Patty was born September 1, 1932, one of six children of Mary and Don Willis. She graduated from Timken Vocational High School in 1950 and was a member of the Timken Twirling Corp. She immediately began her working career at the Timken Co. until her retirement as executive secretary with the Timken Research and Technology Center. Pat enjoyed her retirement fully as she and her husband Don took many trips to Las Vegas and sites out west. She enjoyed her card club friends who met together monthly for over 50 years. An avid reader, she also liked her weekly bingo, playing dominoes, and daily mall walks. She loved to cook and entertain family. Patty was a loving and caring wife, sister, aunt, in-law and friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by her husband Donald Dean Laps February 29, 2012; parents, Mary (2001) and Don (1984); sister, Donna Copeland Pugh (1979) and brothers- in-law, Joe Stephen (2014), Al Menegay (2014), Harold Zeiger (1966) and sister-in-law Ricci (Don) Willis (1990). Pat is survived by her twin sister, Nancy Stephen (Canton); sisters, Barbara (Carl) Nelson (Jackson Twp), Shirley Zeiger Menegay (The Villiages, FL); brother, Don (Paula) Willis (Fellsmere, FL); brother-in-law, David (Sheila) Laps (Massillon); sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann (Veryl) Turskey (Massillon), Margaret (late Gene) Laps (Canton), Eileen Zellers (Massillon) and Jenny (Tom) Hamman(Circleville, OH) plus nieces, nephews and cousins. A private family burial has taken place at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
