Palmajune Phillips, age 92, of Canton went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 22, 2007 at her residence of 61 yrs. She was born in Charleston, WV on October 26, 1914 to the late Edmun & Mary (Greybill) Davis. Palmajune graduated from Charleston High School, then began working at her uncle’s restaurant where she met her future husband, Alda “Brownie” Phillips. Alda married the love of his life, Palmajune, on April 15, 1937. The family moved to Canton in 1946. She loved to stay at home, take care of her family and watch them grow. She was active in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family considered her the greatest mom ever. Palmajune was a long time member of Reedurban Presbyterian Church. She was also active in various church activities. Later in her life she supported and volunteered at the William McKinley Presidential Library & Museum. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Gertrude Trumbo. She is survived by three daughters, Caroline (Gary) Nist of Massillon, Betsy (Gordon) Woolbert of Canton, Cindy Sober of Canton; two sons, Scott (Faye) Phillips of Canton, Robert (Peggy) Phillips of Massillon; three brothers, Edmun (Katie) Davis of WV, George (Ellen) Davis of WV, Harry (Sue Ann) Davis of WV; 15 grandchildren, Paul Phillips, Pam Seabolt, Diane, Joe & Scott Vogley, Tammy Lyons, Gary II & Douglas Nist, Vicki Reese, Patty Becker, Kimberly Luckring, Jody Secrest, Gordon II, Jeffrey & Stephen Woolbert; 34 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Friends may call from 5:30 – 8 P.M. on Wednesday at the Paquelet Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at Reedurban Presbyterian Church at 11 A.M. on Thursday.
