Orval D. Cantwell Sr

Orval D. Cantwell Sr., age 75, of Harrisville passed away on January 12, 2021. He was born in McFarlan, West Virginia on June 25, 1945 to the late Kenneth and Hazel Cantwell. He married Mary Kemp on February 28, 1965 and they shared 36 years together until her passing in 2001. Orval worked at Republic Steel until his retirement with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle drag racing and watching western movies. Orval was a devoted family man and friend, who never knew a stranger. He will be deeply missed by family and friends He is survived by his children; Sherri Steinberg, Donnie Cantwell Jr., Laura (Roosevelt) Spells, Amy (Jason) Yoder, and Michael Dennis Jr.; his grandchildren Stacy(Nic), Amber(Joey), Dustin, Brittany, Eric, Brooke, Donald, Juanita, Ayla, Kiara, Destiny(John) and Marissa; 13 great grandchildren; his brother Kester(Cindie) Cantwell; his longtime companion of 17 years, Kay Stapleton and a host of family and friends. In addition to his parents and wife; he was preceded in death by his brothers Edward Cantwell, Jim Cantwell, Kenneth Cantwell Jr. and his sister Evelyn McGeorge. A Graveside service will be held on, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 11a.m. at Brookfield Cemetery.
