Orland Carl Murphy, age 69 of Richville. Ohio joined his Maker on April 30, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center. His death followed a period of declining health. He was born on May 13, 1936 in Bryn Mawr, PA and was the son of the late William & Winford (Milam) Murphy. He retired from the former Central States Can. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict while serving in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 34 ½ years, Doloris (Boyd) Murphy with whom he shared many memories, tears and smiles. He will also be greatly missed by his brother Tommy (Jackie) Murphy of Cape May, NJ, sisters Ardith Nobile of Waterbury, CT and Jean Whitt of Cleiviston, FL, four daughters, Ellen (Ron) Albert of Navarre, Becky (Leonard) Cottrell of Spencer, WV, Cheryl (Keith) Fickle of Canton and Drenda Hockley of KY, his sons, Carl (Marianna) Murphy of Massillon, Steven Brown of Marion, OH, Randy Brown of Marion, OH and Ryan Murphy of the home. Special sister in law and brother in law Ginger and Richard Boyd and their children Heath and Amber Boyd, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends at Cherokee Park in Brimfield, OH where he enjoyed many years of camping. He was preceded in death by his sister Faye Burnocoe and his brother Arthur “Pete” Murphy. Carl was greatly loved and loved greatly. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Always thinking of others, he never met someone that wasn’t a friend. Carl was humorous, yet humble with a smile that will live on forever in the hearts of family and friends. He was a generous man, sharing his time and love with all he knew. He shared a love of animals with his wife and will be missed by dog Lucky and cats Frisky, Sneezy and Gizzy. There will forever be an ache in our hearts when we think of you, but a smile on our faces when we remember you here. He departed this world the same way he lived in it, surrounded by people that loved him. A memorial service will take place on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Howard officiating. Friends may call t the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Stark County Humane Society. The family would like to thank Mercy Medical Center for the care that was received. We could not ask for a more devoted staff and better care.
