Onice E. "Skeet" Bryant, Sr.

Onice E. "Skeet" Bryant, Sr., 69, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014, at the Laurels of Canton. He was born on September 29, 1944 in Enterprise, AL, to the late Leo & Marie Bryant. Onice was a McKinley High school graduate. He worked at Republic Storage Systems, as a supervisor, and retired in 2002.Accepting Christ at a young age, Onice became a member of Friendship Baptist Church. A sports advocate, Onice was a member of the Massillon Tiger Basketball Benchwarmers. He was a kind man, a caretaker, and a dedicated peace maker who was devoted to his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Martha (Pope) Bryant, of 49 years; daughters Tonja Pope-Turner, and Raveen Bryant, both of Massillon; sons, Onice E. Bryant Jr., of Massillon, and Robert (Gayle) Bryant, of Canton; grandchildren, Brittny Turner, Justin"JT" Turner, Anthony Burns, and Robert Burns III; sisters; Henrietta Bryant, Eleanor Preston, of Canton; Joyce Bryant of Columbus; brother Namon Bryant of Kearns UT, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by sisters, Bessie Stokes, Bertha Clark, and Mary Roberts; brothers in law, Orlando Preston, and Johnny Roberts. A funeral service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church of Massillon on Friday, May 23, at 12 pm. Rev. Reginald Hye, officiating.
