Oma Jean Cowan Wilson, 86 of Massillon, left this world to meet her Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at her house surrounded by her family. Oma was born on June 7, 1930 in Harrisville, WV the daughter of the late George and Augusta (Sinette) Cowan. She was an active member of the former Grace Community Church. Oma retired from the Massillon VFW Post #3124 as a cook. She was also past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved going to church, attending Gospel Sings, going camping and cooking. Oma enjoyed having her children and grandchildren over for cookouts and laughter. She had a long term suffering illness and told family members how tired she was and she was ready to go to her mansion in heaven. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William 'Bill' Wilson, and siblings, Lawrence, Cleo, Emery, Olin, Dennis, Omar and George Cowan, Jr., Gladys Irving, Leona Ward and Junita Simon and several grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Joseph (Jeannie) Wilson, James (Lori) Wilson, E. Marie (Terry Roan) Wilson, and A. Mae (Kenny) Roush; special niece (more like a daughter), Shelby (Johnny) Eldreth; grandson, Matthew Wilson of the home; and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Oma's life will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. before the service. Burial will be held at Mt. Pisagh Cemetery in Harrisville, WV at a later date.
