Olive Jewel Parsons

Olive Jewel Parsons, age 84 of Massillon, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Affinity Medical Center-Doctor’s Campus. She was born on January 28, 1923 in Lincoln Co., WV to the late Nathan and Laura Clay. Olive was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple where she was active in the Sunshine Group workshop. She enjoyed fishing and collecting all types of worm figurines. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Emory in 2000, her son, Harvey Parsons, sister, Gusta Clay, and brothers, Homer, Earl, and Vernon Clay. She is survived by her children; Danny (Lynn) Parsons of Henlawson, WV, Benny (Amy) Parsons of Chapmanville, WV and Marcella (Kenneth) Belcher of Massillon, daughter-in-law, Diana Parsons of Henlawson, WV, brothers; Golden (Lorene) Clay of Massillon and Ray (Maxine) Clay of Old Washington, OH, sisters; Odis Smith of Massillon, Fannie Miller of Huntington, WV, Loreain (Jimmy) Jenkins of Huntington, WV and Aleain (Carl) Truax of Massillon, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at the Paquelet Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. Rev. W.
