Norma Jean Mcmahon

Norma Jean McMahon, 94, of Massillon, passed away on April 2, 2018. She was born on January 26, 1924 in Massillon to the late Floyd and Eva (Hamel) Ginther. She was a graduate of Washington High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She spent many years working as a registered nurse in Pediatrics and enjoyed seeing the little ones get healthy again. Norma dedicated herself to raising her five children and in later years enjoyed her grandchildren growing up and especially times spent at family outings together. After retirement she enjoyed many hours volunteering through the hospital. She will be deeply missed by her children, Kathleen (Mark) Okey of Rockbridge, Ohio, Kevin (Holly) McMahon of Akron, Ohio, Brian (Arlene) McMahon of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Brenda (Brent) Ashcraft of Springboro, Ohio and Michelle McMahon of Westerville, Ohio; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband Robert McMahon of 64 years, sisters Joyce Braun and Joan Woods and grandson Kevin Ross McMahon. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. and burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 206 Cherry Rd NE, Massillon, OH 44646.
